My Story

This is Candelaria Hermelinda Paola De Leon Calachij, and I am writing this to update my 2023 information. First, I will tell you about my family. We are still members of the Catholic Church, and we attend the mass on Monday. LW Evangelism team has shared the gospel with us, and we are grateful for their words. We have hens and pigs at home, and we sell them when they grow up. We grow small green tomatoes to sell and corn for our consumption. We are a humble family, and our needs are groceries and corn. My father’s name is Pedro. He is 30 years old, and he is in good health. He works as a farmer and day laborer, and he goes to cut sugar cane at the coast from November to May. My mother’s name is Marcela. She is 26 years old, and she is in good health too. She works hard at home and takes care of us.

Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 9 years old, and I am healthy. I am in second grade, and I am happy to receive face-to-face classes because I learn more. It has been difficult for my father to cover my school expenses because everything is expensive, and he sometimes does not have much money. I want to become a businesswoman when I am older. My favorite celebration is Christmas because we light fireworks. My family sings Happy Birthday songs on my special day. I like running, and I love drinking sodas like Coca-Cola. I have to improve my Spanish since I speak Quiche dialect as my first language. Living Water is very important in my life, and I have been blessed in a big way. I hope to hear from you soon.
