It is a pleasure to greet you through this letter. My full name is Candelaria Hermelinda Paola de Leon Calachij, and I am so happy to share my information with you. I am 10 years old and fortunately, I am a healthy girl. I like helping my mom with the household chores. As for school, let me tell you that I am in second grade again. I receive classes on the morning shift. I am so happy to be part of LW-Adopt A Child because it blesses me with delicious meals. My family considers this benefit a valuable help. I feel like the happiest child in the feeding program when the staff serves fried chicken for lunch. My favorite celebration at the feeding program is Christmas because the staff and missionaries give me and many other children nice gifts.
Undoubtedly, God has been good to my family and me. As proof, nobody is sick. My father works as a farmer and day laborer in our village. He grows beans and husk tomatoes; we use part of the harvest for our consumption and the rest are for sale. We also raise hens, turkeys, one pig, and one cow to sell in case of need. In order to earn an extra income, my father travels to the coast to pick coffee beans on a farm from November to February. My mom is a housewife and takes part of her time to weave typical belts to sell. As for our spiritual life, let me tell you that we are members of the Catholic Church. My parents welcomed Jesus as their Savior many years ago. My mom appreciates the LW staff for being interested in our salvation. A teacher of the LW evangelism team shared the gospel with her recently to reinforce her faith. We took advantage of the opportunity to give her all this information so you could hear from me. I will leave you now, but I ask you to pray for my whole family and me. Thank you so much for reading my letter and for your prayers. See you later!
Kisses and hugs,
Candelaria Hermelinda Paola de Leon Calachij
