My Story

It is my pleasure to greet you in this opportunity hoping you are receiving many blessings from God! This time LW staff shared the gospel with us and encouraged us to look for a church and seek God; we appreciate the advice. Fortunately, my family and I are fine. My mother is Manuela Tzoy Luis, and she is 57 years old. She tries to contribute with the income by weaving, and she also raises cows to sell to help herself economically. My father is Manuel Coj Portuguez, and he is 67 years old. He makes a living by farming the land to cover the family´s needs. We harvest corn for the family's consumption.

I am Ana Veronica Coj Tzoy, and I am a 14-year-old girl. I no longer attend school after I finished primary school. For now, I stay and help my mother with the housework. I speak the K'iche´ Mayan dialect as my native language and have some knowledge of Spanish. However, I would like to enhance my proficiency in Spanish to communicate better with others. Let me tell you that I would like to raise domestic animals and support myself economically. Playing football is so much fun; it is my favorite sport. I want to tell you that my favorite juice is the pineapple-flavored one. Christmas is my favorite celebration of the year; I have a joyful time with my family on those days and we eat “tamales” (a typical dish). At home, we cannot celebrate our birthdays due to limited resources. I am so grateful to Living Water for providing me with tasty meals, and medical care in the clinics; I am so blessed to be part of the program. At home, the primary needs are groceries. So long. Many and rich blessings to you!

Special greetings,

Ana Veronica Coj Tzoy
