My Story

I am excited to greet you through this letter. This is Wilmer Alexander, and I want to share my last news with you. My family and I do not attend any church at the moment. Fortunately, my mother and I could listen to the gospel thanks to a teacher of the LW evangelism team. I hope we can attend a church soon. My father’s name is Jorge Tzoy and he is 49 years old. He makes a living as a day laborer and farms corn for our consumption. However, it does not last for much time. My mother’s name is Esperanza Ruiz and she is 46 years old. She is a housewife and takes care of my sister and me. We need groceries at home, especially corn. Fortunately, we count on the feeding program’s help. It is a meansful project where we can receive delicious food. As for health, let me tell you that almost my whole family is healthy. My sister Karina is stable. She suffers from headaches, but she already visited the LW clinics. She is taking medicine nowadays. I am also taking medicines from the LW clinics because I suffer from bloody noses. I hope to feel better.

I am eight years old and this year, I attend school as a first grader again. I prefer to receive face-to-face classes because I learn more lessons. Unfortunately, my father does not earn enough resources to support my school supplies and snacks for recess time. I would love to work as a bricklayer when I am older. I hope to accomplish it someday. I also would like to speak Spanish better than now. My native language is the K’iche dialect. Life has ups and downs, but that does not stop me from enjoying all the holidays because they bring me happiness. I love drinking soda, especially Mirinda. I had my birthday in June. My parents and I do not celebrate birthdays because of a lack of money. To end this letter, I want you to know that a teacher asked for my mother's help to collect all this information for you. See you later!

Sending you warm and hug hugs,

Wilmer Alexander Tzoy Ruiz
