This is Juana Maricela Us Guarcas, and I am writing this to update my 2023 information. First, I will tell you about my family. We are still members of Prince of Peace Church, and we attend the service on Monday and Wednesday. We are assured of our Salvation. We have hens and one cow at home. We grow corn and black beans, and they are for our consumption. We are a humble family, and our greatest needs are groceries. My father’s name is Francisco. He is 44 years old, and he is in good health. He works as a farmer and day laborer to support the family. My mother’s name is Candelaria. She is 34 years old, and she is in good health too. She works hard at home and looks after our domestic animals.
Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 12 years old, and I am healthy. I am in 4th grade, and I am happy to attend face-to-face classes because I understand the lessons better. It has been difficult for my parents to support me with my studies since they do not have a stable job. I want to have my own domestic animals when I am older. My favorite celebration is Christmas because my birthday is on those days. I enjoy my birthday because we prepare and eat “tamales”. I prefer soccer as a sport, and I love drinking “Incaparina” (hot beverage made from corn and soy). I want to improve my Spanish since I speak Quiche dialect as my first language. Living Water is very important in my life, and I am grateful for all the support received. I close my letter wishing you the best.
Kisses and hugs
