My Story

It is a wonderful day to send my greetings; God bless you! Praise the Lord I attend the Trees of Justice Church; I go on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. This time LW staff shared the gospel with my mother and encouraged her to attend church with me. Thanks to the Lord, my family and I are healthy. My mother is Alva Raquel Veliz Guate, and she is 35 years old. She sells homemade food like “atol, pupusas, and tostadas” (Guatemalan typical food) in the afternoons. My father is Manuel Gonzalez Vicente, and he is 38 years old. He makes a living by working as a blacksmith and supplying the family´s needs. Unfortunately, in 2021 our home collapsed, and nothing was left. Since then, we have been living in my sister´s house. My parents are struggling to build our house, nevertheless it has been difficult because they do not have much work, and the income is not much. We thank God because in the middle of the hard situations, he has been providing for us.

My name is Yanderlin Belen Gonzalez Veliz, and I am already 13 years old. This year I received classes at school, and I attended 6th grade; my learning improved a lot. Supporting me at school has been hard for my parents, especially since our house collapsed, and I do not know if I will attend school next year because our economy is bad. My dream is to become a secretary and I know I need to do my best to accomplish my dream. The Mandarin language catches my attention, and I would like to learn how to speak it. The sport I like the most is karate. My favorite drink is horchata. On my birthday, my mother prepares a lunch to celebrate or buys a cake. I love Christmas time; the joyful environment iw wonder, and my family gets together in those days. I take this opportunity to give thanks for the support I receive through Living Water; I am so blessed to be part of the program; I have learned many important things there. We are in need of groceries, a bed, footwear and school support. I send much love. This is all for now. Many blessings!

Kind regards,

Yanderlin Belen Gonzalez Veliz
