My Story

Wishing you the best in your daily activities. I am Maria Medalla Mendez Castro, and my current age is 14 years old. My family and I attend Prince of Peace Church and go on Monday. We appreciate the encouraging words from LW staff to continue attending church; we trust our Salvation in Jesus Christ. My father is Basilio, and he is 46 years old. He is a merchant and sells veggies in the local plaza all days of the week. My mother is Maria, and she is 36 years old. Like my father, she also is a merchant and helps him with the selling. We grow corn for selling and get income. In addition, we raise hens and pigs, and we sell them if we have some need. Thank God, we are healthy.

This year I did not attend school because I did not want to. Last year, I passed sixth grade. So now, I spend my time helping with the chores at home. I hope to have my own business and go ahead by myself. I like to drink Coca-Cola. Playing football is so much fun; it is my favorite sport. I like it so much when the fair is in town because there are interesting mechanical games; it is so fun. My family celebrates my birthday with a cake; it makes me feel so special. We are a humble family, and the greatest need in the home is food. To be part of the feeding program is a great blessing for me because I enjoy the meals when I go; thank you for your support through Living Water. Sending much love. May God bless you!
