It is a joy for me to greet you through this. This is Kriystel, and I am eleven years old. This year I am attending fifth grade. I go to school to receive study guides twice per week and hand in my schoolwork to the teacher. For me, studying has turned a little difficult due to the money I must spend to have internet on the cellphone. The thing I missed a lot from the feeding program was, the tasty food which is a great blessing to me. For me to get there, it takes fifteen minutes away from home by walking. My father abandoned us some time ago. He does not provide for us economically either. My mom is a housewife. Now I have a stepfather. He has been living with us since one year ago. He is a peddler, and with the money he gets from it, he provides for my family’s expenses. My family and I do not usually go out due to the lack of resources, so we stay home. On Christmas my family and I got together, so we ate tamales, drank fruit punch and spent a good time together. Currently, we are attending Holocaust for the King Church, located five minutes away from home. I am part of the church’s dance group. The time the church was closed due to the pandemic, we were calm, for we got together and prayed God for the situation.
We rent a house with two rooms and separate kitchen. The house and the roof are made of tin sheets, and the floor of concrete. It has electricity and running water. The house condition is good. My mom got fired due to the pandemic and she did not receive her any money from work. It affected our economy, for we must pay the rent of the house, meet food and study expenses. That’s why, I thank to the feeding program for the grocery bags we received in those difficult moments. It was a great help at home. For now, my family and I are all doing well, thanks to God. To finish, I want you to know, my mom gave this information in person, to an Evangelism team member who visited us at home, to share with you my last news. Hope to get in touch with you again. And hope to hear from you soon.
Lots of hugs,
Kriystel Mishel Alvarez
