My Story

I am happy to greet you through this. I hope you are fine. This is Luis Fernando, and I am nine years old. This year I am in second grade, and I am attending school two days per week. I use study guides, so every week I hand in my schoolwork to the teacher. It's hard for me. I don't learn well, and my mom has a hard time teaching me. I really missed the food and eating with my cousins and friends in the feeding program. I get there in five minutes by walking. Let me tell you that sadly, my father died in September last year. Currently, my mom is selling bedclothes to support my family financially. To spend time together, we go to the park or for a walk. On Christmas, we spent it together eating tamales, drinking fruit punch and wearing new clothing. At the moment, we are not attending any church.

We rent a two-room house with other people. We cook our meals within one room. The house’s walls are made of cement block, the roof of concrete and the floor of concrete. It does have electricity and running water. The house condition is good. Due to the pandemic, sales dropped a lot, and it was difficult for us to collect money for the rent, and we also had difficulty getting food. Food supplies are a great need at home, and so are study expenses. That’s why, I thank the feeding program for the grocery bags we received in those difficult times. It was all a great help for my family and me because my mom is a single parent. For now, we are all doing well, thank God. To finish, I want you to know my mom gave this information to an Evangelism team member to share with you my last news. I say goodbye to you for now. I hope to hear from you soon.

Lots of hugs,

Luis Fernando Ivan Perez Cho
