My Story

I greet you in the name of Jesus hoping you are fine with your lovely family! We do not attend any church; in this opportunity LW staff shared the gospel with us and encouraged us to look for a church to attend and seek God. We appreciate so much that they are worried about our spiritual life; we are going to think about accepting Jesus in our hearts. We are fine at home even though one of my sisters suffers from mental retardation; she is quite well. My father is Enrique Pol Luis, and he is 55 years old. He works as a day laborer in our village to supply our home needs. Moreover, he grows corn for our consumption. My mother is Maria Tzoc Luis, and she is 53 years old. She works hard at home, and she also raises hens and pigs to sell if we have some need.

I am Belinda Maribel Pol Tzoc, and I am 16 years old. I do not attend school because I did not like. For now, I work selling coconuts in a sale that belongs to my older brother. My dream is to have my own business to support myself and help my family. My native language is Spanish, but I would like to learn K'iche´ Mayan dialect, which is very interesting, and my family can speak it. I like Christmas time because of the firecrackers; I light some of them and I have a lot of fun with my siblings. I love eating cake, especially on my birthday. My family buys a cake to celebrate. I like sodas, especially Coca-Cola which is my favorite one. Playing football is so much fun; it is my favorite sport. Being part of the feeding program is a great support for me and my family since I receive my meals and medical care in the LW clinics. At home, the top priorities are groceries and corn. I leave you for now, but I hope to receive news from you soon. Many and abundant blessings!

Kind regards,

Belinda Maribel Pol Tzoc
