My Story

I am happy to greet you through this. I am Estela Maribel Ajqui Riz, and I hope you are doing well. I am thirteen years old. This year I am in fifth grade and receiving face-to-face classes at school the whole week. Thank God, I have been doing well in my studies. In my free time, I help with the chores at home. I missed delicious food from the feeding program during the time it was closed due to the pandemic. Thank God, it is open again, so I get there in forty minutes by walking. My father works sweeping for the Municipality, and my mom stays home doing chores, taking care of us and raising domestic animals. My family gets together in the afternoon, and we share a snack, prepare coffee and get bread. We do not usually celebrate Christmas. At the moment, we are attending Christian Church, located ten minutes away from home by walking. My mom is a deaconess in the church. It was hard for my family during the time the church was closed due to the pandemic, so we had a time of family prayer instead.

We live in a house of four rooms and a separate kitchen. The walls are made of adobe, the roof of tin sheets and the floor of concrete. It does not have electricity, so we use candles. We do not have running water, so we get water from a river and use it for daily consumption and to wash our clothes and the dishes. Due to the pandemic, it has been difficult because the products of daily consumption rose in price. Food supplies are a great need at home, so for that reason, I thank the feeding program for the grocery bags we received. It was all a great help for my family and me. Thank you very much. May God continue to bless you greatly. At the moment, we are all doing well, thank God. Finally, I want you to know my mom gave this information to an Evangelism team member to share with you my last news. Take care please!

Gratefully,

Estela Maribel Ajqui Riz
