My Story

Hello! I greet you in the name of Jesus and hope you are doing fine with your loved ones. I want to share a little about my family and me in this opportunity. My mother`s name is Marta Maribel Gutierrez Tzoy. She is 31 years old. Currently, she continues doing chores at home and takes care of the family. Moreover, she embroiders typical blouses to sell and get some income. In addition, she raises hens at home. I want to let you know that my mother is living with a new partner 3 months ago. My stepfather`s name is Juan Carlos Ruiz Riz.  He is 41 years old. Currently, he works as a mason helper in our village in order to support the family economically. As a humble family, our current needs are corn and groceries. We grow corn and black beans for our family`s consumption. At the moment, we are attending the Adventist Church 3 days a week. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my mother during the visit. So, she is sure of her salvation in Jesus. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

I am Josselyn Daniela Gutierrez Tzoy. I am 12 years old. This year I am in 6th grade at school. I receive face-to-face classes every day and I am learning a lot about homework with this study method. Thank God, my stepfather is making an effort to support me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that he does not have a stable job. Sometimes, it is very difficult to cover every expense. My dream is to become a teacher. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think this is a very interesting language. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because our custom is to eat “tamales” (a typical dish). I like to drink coffee. What I like for my birthday is to have a delicious cake and some gifts. Among sports, I like to play soccer. My family is grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that you sent to me at the end of the year. May God bless you richly and take care of you!

Huge hugs,

Josselyn Daniela Gutierrez Tzoy
