My Story

Jocotenango, where your child lives, is in the state of Sacatepéquez, Guatemala and is a suburb of Antigua. It is an urban environment and is inhabited by both Quiché Mayans and Ladinos (those with mixed European ancestry). Most of the children attend school, but financial hardship affects many families and forces most of the children to leave after the sixth grade. Only one out of ten children finish high school. Children in this area face temptations from gangs and drugs.

Hello! My name is Neytan Jamal Gonzalez Sandoval, and I was born on August 31, 2018. Currently, I am 5 years old, and I am in pre-kinder. I am in good health, and I enjoy playing sand and tractor toys in my free time. My favorite dishes are soups and sausages. I love the color red, and the animal I like the most is the dinosaur. At the moment, my family and I are not attending a church. I am the only child in the family. My mother’s name is Debora Sofia Gonzalez Sandoval, and she works as a waitress in a restaurant to support me. I do not have information about my biological father because he abandoned us when I was five months old.

We live with my grandparents and share the house with two uncles. The house has one room and a separate kitchen, and it is made of concrete block with a tin sheet roof and concrete floor. Thankfully, we have running water and electricity services; my mother and her siblings pay these bills. We are praying to God so that He provides us the resources to buy a wardrobe since we keep our clothes on a table. I walk for 30 minutes to arrive at the feeding program. I tell you that my grandmom helped me to give this personal information to a LW Evangelism teacher. I am happy to be part of the Ministry. I hope you find my letter interesting.

With much love

Neytan Jamal Gonzalez Sandoval
