My Story

Hello, my name is Geysi Paola Benito Ajqui. I am so happy to be able to greet you and share some information with you about myself. I am five years old, and I live in Guatemala in a small place called Cuatro Caminos, or Four Roads. I go to school in pre-k this year. Next year I will be in kindergarten which is very exciting. I live with my mom and my two older brothers. I have one more brother who is the oldest, but he does not live with us. He went to live with our dad. My mom’s name is Petrona Ajqui Morente. She works in a tortilla shop in Guatemala City. She travels to work for two months and then comes back to see us and spend time with us. When she travels to work, she leaves us with my grandma Maria. My grandma watches us and takes care of us while my mom is gone. Then, when she comes back, she stays home and takes care of us and the chores at home. My dad’s name is Venancio Benito Riz. He lives in another town, and he has a new family now. My mom and dad separated three years ago, but this has been hard on our family. Even though it is hard, I know God is watching over us and helping us. Thankfully, my dad helps us financially. He sends us money each month, and he stays in contact with me and my brothers by telephone.

I want to tell you that I have a friend named Ericka. We have been friends since we were very little, and we love to spend time together. Sometimes we like to do our homework together. I also love spending time with my grandma. She is a very special person to me, and I love when she gives me a little bit of money to buy a toy. I go to church with my family at Prince of Peace Church. I love going and learning about God. They teach us that Jesus is the Son of God and He is our Savior. I love Jesus because He loves us so much. I want to tell you that my mom shared this information with the Living Water Evangelism teacher. When he talked with us, he encouraged my mom to continue trusting in God and following His ways. This was very encouraging to my mom. We are very thankful for the feeding program and all the blessings we receive through the ministry. I say goodbye now, but I want to thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about me. I hope you enjoyed it, and I send many blessings in the name of Jesus.

Hugs and kisses,

Geysi Paola Benito Ajqui
