My name is Gerson, and I greet you lovingly, hoping you are doing well. I am glad to share my last news with you, so I hope you find it engaging. My family and I still attend the Prince of Peace Church; we usually do it every Monday. Thankfully, we are healthy. Emilio De La Cruz is my father, and he is 37 years old. He supports our family by cutting sugar cane at the coast; he usually travels every seven months. My mother works hard at home. Her name is Roselia Benito, and she is 40 years old. She raises pigs and hens to sell and get an extra income to cover other needs. Our economy is weak, so my parents have trouble buying firewood and food supplies like corn and beans. I just turned seven years old in July. For my last birthday, I excitedly celebrated it by wearing my best clothes. I am not attending school yet because I am little afraid, but I hope to do it the next year. My favorite season is summer because I enjoy playing under the sunlight. I love drinking “mosh” (a typical hot beverage) and playing soccer. My native language is the Quiche dialect, but I know a little Spanish. I hope to speak it fluently someday. This is all for now about my life, but before saying goodbye to you, let me tell you that LW is an enormous blessing for my family and me. The LW staff spoke with my older brother, Tereso, to collect this information for you. Besides that, they encouraged me to continue trusting in God. See you later!
In the name of Jesus,
Gerson Estuardo Jonathan de la Cruz Benito
