Child
May the grace of the Lord be with you! By means of this letter, I want you to know that your loving support allows LW-Adopt A Child to help many children and families in need like mine. May God bless you for being instruments of blessing! My full name is Rosalyn Zenaida Jacobo Perez, and I have attended the feeding program for about three years. Some of my relatives knew about this organization and motivated my mother to send my sister and me there. Today, I am a healthy 14-year-old girl. I am in eighth grade at school and I help my grandmother to do some chores after doing homework. I have lived with her since my mother moved to work in the city. After my father passed away, she has worked as a domestic employee and strives to support my sister and me financially. Fortunately, we are all healthy. My mother visits us every fifteen days.
Some of my uncles and their families live with us at home. They take turns with my mother to cover the electricity and running water services. We are a Catholic family and trust that Jesus is always calling us to be better every single day. The things that motivate us to go to church are the communion and spiritual guidance to follow Jesus, such as the acts of piety and rich traditions like processions. Sister Princesa (a member of the LW staff) recently shared the gospel and encouraged us to keep going in our faith. She shared with us that she is sure about her salvation because of faith. We agreed with her that accepting Jesus in our hearts is the key to being admitted into Heaven. However, we are conscious that we should work to not lose our salvation and do the sacraments to get his forgiveness when we fail. To end this letter, I kindly ask you to pray for my mother so the Lord keeps her safe and healthy. Finally, I want to share that I prefer hot weather because it is perfect to eat shaved ice with salt, lemon, and powder seeds; here in Guatemala, in Spanish, we call it granizada. Until next time!
Kisses and hugs,
Rosalyn Zenaida Jacobo Perez
