My Story

First, thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. This is Jackeline, and I am excited to share my last news with you. I hope this finds you doing well. My family and I do not attend any church at the moment. Fortunately, we are all in good health condition. My father, Nicolas De La Cruz, is 57 years old. He continues working as a mason. My mother, Ana Maria Ajqui, is 44 years old. She keeps busy raising chickens and turkeys to sell some of them. She helps my father to pay for the expenses with her income. She is also a midwife. I want to use this moment to let you know the feeding program has been a great help to us. My sister Alison and I always receive delicious food. My family and I harvest corn and beans for our consumption.

I am eleven years old and this year, I am in fifth grade. I agree to receive face-to-face classes because I enjoy all the activities that the teacher organizes to explain the lessons. Even though everything is expensive, my parents have had enough resources to buy my school supplies. I would love to become a police officer when I am older. I also would like to speak a new language like English. My favorite holiday is the fair in my town Zacualpa. My school and others organize parades where I usually get involved. Besides that, I also enjoy the amusement park. I like drinking sodas, especially Pepsi. When my birthday comes, I get excited because my family always spends lovely moments with me to celebrate my day. Soccer is the most popular sport in my country, but I prefer basketball. Before ending this letter, I want you to know that a teacher of LW spoke with my mother to collect this information and let you know about my life. I say goodbye to you for now, but I appreciate your kind attention.

With much love,

Jackeline Karina De La Cruz Ajqui
