My Story

My name is Oliver Armando, and I am so happy to tell you my news through this letter. I hope you are doing well. My family and I still attend the Catholic Church called Mary’s Help of Christians. We usually do it on Sundays. We are grateful to a member of the LW staff because he shared the gospel with us. My grandma and I took advantage of that moment to give all this information to update you about my life and ask for prayers for our family. My siblings and I still live with my grandma. Her name is Evangelina Gonzalez, and she is 65 years old. She used to work for the Guatemalan Social Security (IGSS). However, she is retired now. She supports our needs with her pension. My father has another family, but he occasionally helps us economically. His name is Mynor Manuel Alfaro, and he makes a living as a soft drink delivery person. Fortunately, we count on my aunt’s economic help. Her name is Eva Alfaro, and she is 42 years old. She works as a secretary. By God’s grace, my whole family is in good health.

Now, I want you to know a little bit more about me. I am 9 years old, and I am a healthy boy. I attend school as a third grader. That made me feel glad because I could play with my friends at recess and learn the lessons much better. I wish to attend face-to-face classes next year. Covering my school supplies was hard for my granny because she has been barely able to support our needs with her pension. I would to continue studying to become a doctor and speak English. Therefore, I would love to count on your prayers for my whole family and me. I hope to accomplish my dreams and goals someday. My favorite holiday is Christmas because it is a lovely time to celebrate with our families. I like drinking natural refreshments, but my favorite is tamarind. When my birthday comes, I love having a tasty cake to celebrate with my family. There are many sports, but my favorite is basketball. To end this letter, I want you to know that LW has blessed my family material and spiritually. The staff kindly attends to and shares God’s news with many needy people. Thank you so much for changing many lives like mine through this project!

Special regards,

Oliver Armando Alfaro Chavez
