My Story

Hello! I greet you in the name of Jesus and I hope you are blessed in your daily life. I am Marcia Lorena Luis Gomez and I am 18 years old. I am so happy to share with you a little about my family and me. My mother`s name is Marta Olivia Gomez Calachij. She is 37 years old. Currently, she is a housewife and continues raising hens and pigs at home. My father`s name is Pedro Luis De Leon and he is 40 years old. As you know, he lives and works in the United States.  He earns a living by working as a machine driver on a farm. He supports the family and he keeps in communication with us.  As a big and humble family, our current needs are corn and groceries. We grow corn and black beans to sell and also for family consumption. At the moment, we are not attending the Church. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel with me and for their encouraging words. I want to tell you that all my family and I are in good health.

As you know, I am not studying because I do not want to, but I help my mother with chores at home.  My dream is to have my own grocery store. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think this is an important language. My favorite season of the year is Christmas because our custom is to eat “tamales” (a typical dish). Among sports, I love to play soccer. My favorite beverage is “Incaparina” (a hot drink made with soy and corn flour). What I would like to do for my birthday is for my parents to buy me a cake when we have a little extra gift. We are grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive at year`s end. I hope you like to read my letter. May God bless you greatly!

Warm regards,

Marcia Lorena Luis Gomez
