It is a joy for me to greet you through this. I hope this finds you doing well. This is Marcia Lorena Luis Gomez and I am seventeen years old. I no longer attend school, so now I help my mom with the household work and feeding domestic animals at home. The time the feeding program was closed due to the pandemic, I missed a lot the tasty food from it. For me to get there, it takes about an hour by walking. To get some money, my mom carries a cord of firewood with her neighbors and she also raises chickens to provide for our household expenses. My dad abandoned my family many years ago. Me made other family. He does not provide any economic support to us. My two older brothers are the ones who help my mom financially. They both work as day laborers at other villages. My family and I eat homemade snacks to talk and spend a good time together. We celebrated Christmas by making tamales and eating special lunch with the family. At the moment, we are not attending any church.
We own two-room house with separate kitchen at a place with walls made of tin sheets, wooden posts and tin sheet roof. The tin sheets from the walls of the kitchen are in poor condition, so they leak when it rains. The house is made of cement block, the roof made of clay tin tiles and concrete floor. It has electricity and running water. Let me tell you that pandenic did affect my family’s economy. Food supplies and corn are a greatest need for us. That’s why, I thank to the feeding program for the grocery bags we received on that difficult time. It was all a great blessing to us. May God continue to bless you! Currently, my family and I are all doing well, thanks to God. Lastly, I want you to know, my mom gave this information to an Evangelism team member to share with you my last news. I hope to get in touch with you the next time. Thank you! Take care please.
