My Story

My name is Gerber Stiven, and I am glad to greet you through this letter. Before telling you my news, I want you to know that my mother helped me to give all this information to a member of the LW staff. We are grateful to him because he shared the gospel with us. My family and I attend Ebenezer Church on Sundays. My mom, Nancy Roxana Cardona Arrazola, and she is 36 years old. She works hard at home by doing the household chores. She is a diabetic woman who takes metformin to keep herself stable. The one who supports us economically is my oldest sister. Her name is Maryori Arrazola, and she is in good health. She works in Pizza Hut as a cook. As you know, my father abandoned us many years ago. However, he has been in touch with me recently. He is also trying to help me economically, although it has been difficult because he ran out of work due to the pandemic. Now, he works by carrying heavy packages from one place to another in his car, but he does not earn enough. His name is Valeriano Choc Joc, and he is 56 years old.

We are a needy family, and some of our needs are groceries. As for pets, let me tell you that we have one dog at home. I am 10 years old, and I love soccer. I attended school as a third grade this year. I have improved a lot since I started to do it. My family tried to cover school supplies, but it sometimes was difficult because of money. I would love to do a lot of things when I am older. Some of them are to become a policeman and speak the Kaqchikel dialect. My favorite holiday is Holy Week because my brethren and I usually organize a spiritual retreat. I like drinking soft drinks, but my favorite is Coca-Cola. When my birthday comes, I love that my mom prepares fried chicken and French fries to celebrate with our family. I like sports, but my favorite is soccer. To end this letter, I want you to know that LW is a meaningful project for us. My mom used to attend the feeding program when she was a child. She learned a lot about Jesus, and I am doing it now. I say goodbye to you for now, but I hope to hear from you soon.

Many kisses and hugs,

Gerber Stiven Choc Arrazola
