My Story

Hello! This is Esdras Emanuel Bucu Callejas, and I am grateful to you for taking the time to read my 2023 update. I hope you are doing well. Let me tell you that my family and I do not attend church at the moment. I am glad and thankful to an evangelism teacher because he encouraged us to look for God and shared the gospel with us. I want to take advantage of this opportunity to ask for your prayers and encouragement seek the Lord. Many thanks in advance! Let me tell you that the teacher also seized that moment to collect all this information with my mom’s help. As you know, my father does not live with me, but he had communication with me. His name is Pedro Bucu Rodriguez. Unfortunately, he no longer continues doing it. My mom is Filomena Esther Callejas Chamale, and she is 46 years old. She used to have a plant nursery at home, but now she has a tiny store where she sells a few snacks, candies, and chocobananos (those are frozen pieces of banana covered with chocolate). By God’s grace, we are in good health.

Today, I am 16 years old. Last year, I attended a secondary school, in Ciudad Vieja (it is a closer town to Antigua Guatemala), as a ninth grader. It was good to receive face-to-face classes because you can learn the lessons so much better. Thankfully, my mom had enough resources to cover my school expenses. Currently, I use my time to work by cutting coffee beans in a farm. To get an extra income, I also work in a nursery plant. My favorite season of the year is summer. I enjoy feeling the sunshine and seeing clear the sky. I love drinking Coca-Cola, and my favorite sport is soccer. I would love to learn and speak English in the future. I enjoy celebrating my birthday with my mom. What I love the most is having a delicious cake, a special lunch, and gifts. To end this letter, let me tell you that LW is a very important project for us because of the blessings that we always receive. I say goodbye to you for now, but I hope you have an incredible day!
