Hello! It is a great blessing to greet you through this letter. I am Jesusa Elena Garcia de la Cruz and I am nine years old. This year, I am in the third grade and attending school twice per week. Fortunately, the pandemic situation has not affected me. In my free time, I help my mom to clean the house. I like to attend the feeding program, and I take about ten minutes to arrive. When it was closed due to the pandemic, I missed attending it and the food but fortunately, the program is open again. My father works making bricks in a factory, and he also prays for people, and they give him an offering. My mother does the chores at home and takes care of us.
On Christmas, we prepare ¨tamales and ponche¨ (typical dish and hot fruit drink). We share a small homemade snack together in the afternoons. We do not attend a church but hope to do it soon. We live in a rented house, and it is made of tin sheet and dirt floor. We have one room and a kitchen. There is electricity, but we do not have running water. We buy gallons of water. We pray to God because we would like to work hard and have our own house. Our needs are groceries. Thank God, we are healthy. My family was affected at the beginning of the pandemic because they could not have much work. I want you to know that my father gave this information about me. I say goodbye to you for now hoping to have news from you soon. Many blessings!
With much love,
Jesusa Elena Garcia de la Cruz
