My Story

Hello! I greet you from the bottom of my heart, and I want to wish you many successes in your daily life. I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. I am Jimena Ruiz Garcia and I am 11 years old. I want to let you know that we continue attending the Prince of Peace Church every Sunday and Thursday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who shared the Gospel with my mother and for encouraging her. This year I am in 5^th grade at school. I am receiving face-to-face classes, and I am learning a lot. My mother is making an effort to support my brother and me at school even though she does not have a stable and good job. Nowadays, school supplies are so expensive, and it is difficult for her to cover all school expenses. When I am older, I want to become a teacher. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think this is a very interesting language. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I like to see the colorful lights. I prefer to drink sodas. Basketball is my favorite sport. What I like to do for my birthday is to sing the song “Happy Birthday to You”. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Francisca Garcia Tiu. She is 28 years old. Currently, she continues doing chores at home. In addition, she waves typical clothes to sell and get some income. As you know, my father abandoned the family 9 years ago, so my mother is the only one that supports us with our expenses. As a humble family, our current needs are corn, groceries, and clothes. We are grateful to you and to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive every end of the year.
