My Story

This is Jaquelyn Esmeralda Lucila Chingo Gomez, and I am writing this to update my 2023 information. First, I will tell you about my family. We are still members of Full Gospel Church, and we attend the services on Monday and Wednesday. We have accepted Jesus in our hearts. We raise hens and grow corn for our consumption. We are a humble family, and our greatest needs are groceries and corn. My stepfather’s name is Oscar, and he is in good health. He works as a farmer and day laborer, and he also goes to work on the coast. My mother’s name is Josefa, and she is in good health too. She works hard at home and embroiders napkins.  

Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 9 years old, and I am healthy. I am in 3^rd grade, and I am happy to receive face-to-face classes because I learn more. It has been difficult for my mother to cover my school expenses because my biological father does not support me. I want to become a businesswoman when I am older. My favorite celebration is Christmas because I like seeing the colorful lights. We do not have the custom to celebrate our birthdays due to our low resources. I prefer soccer as a sport, and I love drinking sodas like Coca-Cola. I want to improve my Spanish since I speak Quiche dialect as my first language. Living Water is very important in my life, and I am grateful for all the support received. I hope to hear from you soon.
