My Story

I am delighted to write this letter to you. My name is Marlon Obeth de la Cruz Mendez, and before introducing myself I thank you so much for reading my information. Thankfully, I am a healthy 8-year-old boy. I am repeating second grade at school this year. I receive classes on the morning shift and do homework in the afternoon. I live with my parents and one brother. What I like the most is spending time with them on weekends. My mom is healthy and keeps busy with the household chores. She also raises hens at home for our consumption. She occasionally sells them to help my father with the expenses. Fortunately, we have enough space at home to have a few hens and grow corn for our consumption. I ask you to pray for my father because he has diabetes. By the grace of God, he is stable because he follows the medical prescription of his doctor. He makes a living as a day laborer and tends a hardware store that belongs to one of my uncles.

I am glad to be part of the feeding program because the staff prepares delicious food. If you were to ask me what my favorite food from this project is, I would definitely say fried chicken is my favorite. My whole family and I are grateful to the Lord because we have also received spiritual support and medicine at LW-Adopt A Child. My family and I have been members of the LW Liberty Church for many years. Fortunately, my parents welcomed Jesus as their Savior many years ago. I enjoy celebrating Christmas at the feeding program because of the lovely Christmas gift. To end this letter, let me tell you that a teacher of the evangelism team encouraged my mom and me to continue trusting in God. I say goodbye to you now, but I hope to hear your news soon. Please take care of yourself!

Kind regards,

Marlon Obeth de la Cruz Mendez
