My Story

Hello! I am Neymar Emerson Garcia Morente, and I am writing you to tell you about my life. First, I will tell you about my family. My father’s name is Jose. He is 40 years old, and he is in good health. He still works as a “cargador” in Guatemala City for three months, and after that time, he comes home to bring us money. When he is in the town, he works as a day laborer. My mother’s name is Elvira. She is 35 years old, and she is in good health. She is a housewife and raises domestic animals. We have hens at home, and we sometimes sell them. We also grow corn, herbs and black beans for the family consumption. We are a humble family, and at the moment, our needs are groceries. We are part of a charismatic group that belongs to the Catholic Church, and we attend the meetings on Tuesday. We are assured of our salvation.

I am 9 years old, and I am healthy. I am in third grade, and it is better for me to attend school in person because I learn more. It has been a little difficult for my parents to cover my school expenses. I dream of becoming a soccer player in the future; I really like soccer. My favorite celebrations of the year are Christmas and Holy Week because we can eat traditional dishes in my family on those days. I get up early when it is my birthday and enjoy sharing some soda with my family on that special day. I speak Quiche dialect as my first language, so I want to improve my Spanish. I love drinking “Incaparina” which is a hot drink made from corn and soy. Living Water and you are very important to me because you helped me when the times were hard. I hope to hear from you soon.

Kisses and hugs
