My Story

This is Jose Luis, and I am so excited to share a little about my life with you. My family and I attend a Christian Church on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. My mother, Irma Cux, is 39 years old. She is a very busy housewife and seamstress. Luckily, her health is in good condition. We praise God because my father has been able to support our necessities by working in the United States. He has been in that country for about one year. Taking advantage of this opportunity, I would like to count on your prayers for his health because he has arthritis. I am ten years old, and I attend school as a fourth grader. I like attending school all week because I am learning so much. My parents do their best for me, but sometimes they do not have enough resources to cover my school expenses. Our priorities are food supplies. To survive, we raise hens that we sometimes sell. Besides that, we grow corn, pumpkin, and lemons for our consumption; what we sell the most of are lemons.

I look forward to becoming a policeman when I am older. I hope to accomplish this dream and learn how to speak the Quiche dialect too. My favorite time is Christmas because we visit my grandparents and other relatives. I love drinking banana and strawberry shakes and riding my bike. Celebrating birthdays is fun and exciting, especially if it is mine. What I love the most is having a piñata (a traditional birthday puppet) and a tasty cake to have fun on my birthday. My health is stable, although sometimes my defenses go down. Fortunately, I can go to the LW clinics when it is necessary. This is all for now, but before saying goodbye, I want you to know that my mother is glad and grateful because I can enjoy delicious lunches and make new friends at the feeding program. Besides that, a teacher of the evangelism team shared the good news with us while she collected this information for you. See you later!

In the name of Jesus,

Jose Luis Tino Cux
