First, thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. I am Magdalena and I want you to know my last news. My family and I are members of a Pentecostal Church. We usually attend our services every Sunday. My father, Daniel Chingo, is 41 years old. He used to help with the expenses at home, but nowadays, he does not work. The only one who supports our family is my mother. Her name is Marta Garcia and she is 37 years old. She works as a domestic employee and washes other people’s clothes. As for health, let me tell you that my older brother, Wilber, is a boy with special needs. Despite his condition, he is healthy as is the rest of my family. Our current needs are clothes, blankets, and groceries. I turned thirteen years old in August. Unfortunately, my mother did not have enough resources to celebrate my birthday. However, I am healthy, and that is the most important thing. I am in third grade again.
I have done my best to pass my grade, but the economic situation of my family is hard to buy school supplies. I have not been able to bring them to school, so that has affected my grades and made me fail. Nowadays, classes are face-to-face, and I am glad because it helps me to learn my lessons better. At the moment, I do not know what I want to do to make a living when I am older. The only thing I have clear in my mind is to finish primary school. I hope to accomplish it. I also would like to learn how to speak English. My favorite holiday is Christmas because I can share that lovely time with my family. I love drinking coffee and playing soccer. This is all for now about my life, but before ending this letter, I want you to know that LW has been a great help for my family and me because of the tasty lunches. A teacher of the evangelism team spoke with my mother to collect this information for you. He also shared the gospel with her, which was a great blessing. She used that time to ask for your prayers for me.
I say goodbye to you for now, but I send you all my love through this means.
