PENDING PHOTO 2022
My name is Carlos Raul Cabrera Vargas, and it is a pleasure for me to greet you through this. I am thirteen years old. This year I am not attending school, so now, I help my mom with the chores at home. I missed a lot spending time with my friends in the feeding program, the time it was closed due to the pandemic. For me to get there, it takes forty-five minutes by walking. My father is not living with us, for he abandoned us. My mom is a housewife, and she also sells tostadas (Guatemalan typical homemade snack). Thanks to it, she makes my family get ahead. My mom prepares special homemade snack for us to spend a good time, talk and share. We do not usually celebrate Christmas due to the lack of resources. At the moment, we are attending Methodist Church, located fifteen minutes away from home. My oldest brother helps in the services of the Sunday School. The time the church was closed due to the pandemic, it was difficult time for us, because we liked to attend the sercives.
The house we live in is in mortgage, it is made of two rooms and has separate kitchen. The house is made of cement block, concrete floor and tin sheet roof, although the tin sheets are in poor condition, so they need to be changed. The floor is of concrete. It has running water and electricity. Pandemic affected my mom’s sales. She was not able to go out and sell the homemade snacks she made, so it affeced our economy, and we ran out of financial resources. As food supplies is a greatest need at home, I thank to the feeding program for the grocery bags we received in those difficult moments. It was all a great help, and met food expenses at home. I thank God and all the people who made it possible. Thank you for being generous towards my family and me. Thanks to God, I am doing well, and so is my family, for now. Finally, I want you to know, my mom gave this information to an Evangelism team member to share with you my last news. I leave you for now. Thank you for reading this. Hope you are doing well.
Lots of hugs,
Carlos Raul Cabrera Vargas
