My Story

My name is Sintia, and it is a privilege to greet you through this update. I hope you are doing well. Let me tell you that LW has been a crucial project in our community; we received food parcels during the hardest moments of the pandemic. Besides receiving delicious lunches and medicines, my family and I can attend Liberty Church from LW. We usually attend our services twice weekly. My father, Venancio Tecu, is 42 years old. As you know, he has lived and worked in the United States to support our family. He still makes a living by packaging lobsters. My mother, Cecilia Ixcotoyac, is 46 years old. She keeps busy doing the chores and taking care of my younger siblings. We work by raising hens and growing corn for our consumption. Thankfully, my whole family is doing well. I am eighteen years old, and I am a healthy girl. I am happy because I am attending first and second semester at the university to become a nurse.

I am doing my best to accomplish this important goal. The university is in Santa Cruz del Quiche town and my house is far away from that place. Therefore, I should travel by bus from Wednesday to Friday in the afternoon. I prefer to receive face-to-face classes than online because I like traveling. That method also helps me clear up my doubts about homework. Even though my education level is demanding, my father has not had trouble covering my needs. Christmas is my favorite holiday; I love eating tamales at that time. If I could learn a new language like English, I would like to try it. My next birthday will be in October. What I love the most about my birthday is receiving gifts. I love drinking Coca-Cola. There are many sports, but my favorite is athletics. To end this letter, I want you to know that a teacher of the evangelism team spoke with my mother to collect this information for you. He also encouraged our family through her to continue knowing God’s love. I say goodbye to you for now, but I wish you the best.

Cordiality yours,

Sintia Melissa Yoselin Tecu Ixcotoyac
