My Story

Hello! Before anything else, I want to praise the Lord for letting me greet you through this letter. My name is Jessica Coj Morente, and I am 15 years old. Nowadays, I keep busy helping my mother to clean our home. She weaves and raises domestic animals to sell to help my father with her income. My father works four or five days per week as a day laborer to cover the necessities of our family. When my parents have days off, they spend time with us sharing tips about how to live and talking about the bible. The Christmas season is the most awaited time for my family and me because we usually prepare a delicious lunch. We are members of the Catholic Church. This is a 10-minute ride by bus or a 40-minute walk from our home. However, we felt sad for not being able to attend church at the beginning of the pandemic. My father is a member of the directive. They organized small meetings to pray until the church opened its doors again.

Let me tell you that my family and I live with my grandparents in their house, and my parents share the expenses with them. Their house is made of adobe walls, a tin sheet roof, and a concrete floor. It has four rooms, a separate kitchen, electricity, and running water. Unfortunately, this pandemic time continues to affect us due to the lack of work opportunities and high prices of essential products like groceries and clothes. Despite everything, we are grateful to the Lord because my whole family and I are in good health. The feeding program is a blessing for me, and I take advantage of this moment to thank you for all you have done for me through the staff. Living Water is open again, and I missed enjoying the activities that the teachers organized. When I go there, I usually walk 20 minutes from my home. Finally, let me tell you that my father gave this information to the evangelism team member to share with you my last news. I leave you now, but do not forget that I love you so much!

From the bottom of my heart,

Jessica Coj Morente
