My Story

First, thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. I am Ingrid, and I hope this update finds you doing well. My family and I still attend the Prince of Peace Church; we usually do it every Monday and Wednesday. I truthfully believe the Lord is my Savior. Proof of his faithful love is that we have been very blessed with food and medicine through LW. A teacher of the evangelism team spoke with my mother to get my last news for you. Florencia Benito is my mother, and she is 50 years old. She is a healthy housewife who makes and sells “morrales” (typical bags made of wool). She also raises hens, pigs, turkeys, and sheep to sell in case of need. Gregorio Ruiz is my father, and he is about 75 years old. He makes a living by farming the land for other people. Besides that, he grows corn and beans for our consumption. Unfortunately, he has had problems with alcohol, so I would like to count on your prayers for him.

About me, let me tell you that I turned thirteen years old in November. I could not celebrate it because of a lack of money, but I am in good health, which is the most important thing. I am in sixth grade; thanks to the face-to-face classes, I learn my lessons better. Thankfully, my parents do not spend much money to buy my school supplies because, in our village, you can find those in modest prices. I look forward to becoming a teacher when I am older. I also would like to learn how to speak English. My favorite holiday is Christmas because of the tasty tamales and fireworks. My favorite drink is peach juice, and I like soccer. This is all for now, but I wish the best for you and hope to hear from you soon.

Cordiality yours,

Ingrid Froridalma Ruiz Benito
