My Story

I greet you fondly, hoping you are doing well. My name is Keyla, and I am excited to share my last news with you. At the moment, my family and I do not attend any church. Fortunately, I can listen to the gospel at the feeding program. In fact, a teacher of the LW evangelism team spoke with my mother, Rosa Garcia, to share God’s news with her. It was a great blessing and joy for her. The teacher also used that moment to collect this information for you. I want you to know that my whole family and I are healthy. My mother is 37 years old. She keeps busy with the chores at home. She also raises hens and sometimes sells them. My stepfather, Carlos Cabrera, is 55 years old. He farms the field to make a living in our community. Nowadays, everything is expensive. We need groceries, especially corn.

I turned fourteen years old in June. What I love the most is preparing tamales and buying a cake to celebrate my birthday with my family. Today, I work as a domestic employee in my village. So far, everything has gone well, and because of that, I hope to continue working there. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love seeing all the lovely decorations to celebrate that holiday. There are many sports, but my favorite is soccer. I like drinking milk. If I could learn a new language, I would like it to be English. Thank you so much for reading my news! I say goodbye to you for now, but I want you to know the feeding program has been an enormous help for my family and me. There are less empathetic people nowadays, but you and many other good-hearted people make the difference.

Cordiality yours,

Keyla Paulina Garcia Gomez
