My Story

It is a wonderful day to greet you with this letter. God bless you! Praise the Lord we continue attending Methodist Church, we go on Monday and Friday. We trust our salvation in Jesus Christ, but we appreciate so much the encouraging words that LW staff gave us. Thanks to God, my family and I are in good health. I do not have my father with me because he passed away while my mother was pregnant with me. For the same reason, I do not have his last name. My mother is Juana de la Cruz, and she is 32 years old. She is a housewife and raises hens and turkeys to sell and get some money. Moreover, she embroiders blouses. I want to let you know that my mother has another partner; his name is Rodolfo Gutierrez and he started living with us a few months ago. He works in a workshop. We grow corn for the family's consumption.

This is Josseline Maria Garcia De La Cruz, and my current age is 12 years old. I am a third-grade student, and since the classes are face-to-face, my learning is improving. My mother has been struggling to cover the school expenses, and it is hard for her because she does not have a stable job. I would like to continue with my studies to become a teacher. My native language is Kiche´ Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn to speak Spanish because I would like to communicate better with other people. My favorite drink is coffee because it is delicious. The sport I like the most is football. Due to a lack of resources, we do not celebrate our birthdays. I like firecrackers; I light some of them at Christmas time. I am so grateful to the Living Water for providing me with a delicious meal each time I go, and medical attention in the clinics; it is a big blessing for me. My family needs groceries, corn, and clothes. Hoping to receive news from you soon. Many blessings!

Best wishes,

Josseline Maria Garcia De La Cruz
