My Story

I am Genesis Sarai Mejia Ordonez, and I am glad to greet you through this. I hope you and your family are doing well. I am sixteen years old. This year I am in the first year of my professional career to become an accountant. Currently, I am taking face-to-face classes at school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am taking online classes on Fridays. The things I missed from the feeding program were seeing my friends and eating the delicious food from it which I like. For me to get there, it takes fifteen minutes by walking. My father abandoned us some time ago. My mom sells homemade food to get incomes and provide for our household expenses. Occasionally, we go to the park. At dinnertime, we talk about family things. On Christmas, we attended the church and made dinner for our family only. At the moment, we are attending Mount Hebron, located ten minutes from home. The time the church was closed due to the pandemic, we felt sad because we had the need to be fed spiritually.

We live at my grandmother’s house. The house has a separate kitchen and three rooms, but we use only one. The house is made of cement block, tin sheet roof and concrete floor. It has electricity and running water. The house is in good condition. The pandemic did affect my family’s economy. My mom’s sales went down, and my maternal grandfather died. Clothing and food supplies are great needs at home, so for that reason, I thank the feeding program for the grocery bags we received in that difficult time. It was all a blessing, and we got it just in time. I thank God and Living Water for loving us and providing this support to us. Thank you very much. God bless you! My mom is diabetic. She already visited the doctor and is taking 1000 metformin as a medical treatment. The rest of us are doing well, thankfully. I ask you to please pray for us to not have lack of money to get clothing. Thanks in advance. Finally, I want you to know that my mom gave this information in person to an Evangelism team member who visited us at home to share with you my last news. I hope to hear from you soon. I say goodbye to you for now.

Special regards,

Genesis Sarai Mejia Ordonez
