My Story

I am really glad to greet you through this. I am Jhosua Aaron Alexandre Perez Aguilar. I hope by the time this reaches you, you and your family are doing well. I am sixteen years old. This year I am in 9th grade, and I am receiving online classes the whole week. Every two weeks, I send my schoolwork by the means of WhatsApp. It has been a little difficult because internet is not enough for what I have to do through it. I really missed getting to eat at the feeding program with my friends. I get there in five minutes by walking. Let me tell you that sadly, I do not have my father’s support because he abandoned us some time ago. For now, my mom stays home. She has been looking for a job and hopes to get one. At the moment, an uncle of mine supports me by working at a vet. To spend time together, we stay home, or I go out with my friends to play basketball. We celebrate Christmas as a family with tamales, fruit punch, and we set up a Nativity Scene. For now, we are attending Catholic Church, located five minutes away from home. During the pandemic, we felt sad because the church had to close. Thank God things have been improving little by little.

We live in a four-room house with a separate kitchen. The house’s walls are made of cement block, the roof of concrete and the floor of ceramic. It does have electricity and running water. The house condition is good. My mom lost her job due to the pandemic, and she hasn't found one. These have been difficult times. We have moved forward little by little, thanks to God and the feeding program that provided us with grocery bags which was all a great help for my family and me at all times because food supplies are a great need at home, and so are study expenses and the payment of the rent of the house. Thank you very much for this support. God bless you! Thank God, I am doing well, and so is my family. Lastly, I want you to know my mom gave this information to an Evangelism team member to share with you my last news. I was so glad to to get in touch with you through this. I hope to hear from you soon.
