My Story

Hello! I wanted to let you know that I feel so glad to write to you, hoping you are well. Thank God, we are all fine. I continue living with my mother and stepfather since my parents are separated. My father is Marlon Alberto Ruano Monterroso, and he works as a messenger; he is 38 years old. He does not live with us, but he faithfully sends me money and keeps in touch with me. My mother is Rosa Veronica Ochoa Veliz, and she is 38 years old; she also makes an effort to contribute to our expenses by cleaning an office. My mother established a new relationship with a man called Julio Lopez; he is 40 years old. We are members of a Christian church, and we meet on Sunday. Our greatest needs right now are groceries and shoes. We have a dog at home.

I am Genesis Jimena Alejandra Ruano Ochoa, and I turned legal age this year on August 7th (which is 18 years old here in Guatemala); my mother celebrated this special day with a birthday cake. This 2023 I attended my last year of my professional career in Tourism, which consists of two years. My parents had a little difficulty paying my school expenses because everything is very expensive, but thank God, I completed my school year without any problem. I asked God to let me complete my studies and become a professional chef in order to help my family financially. Now, I hope to find a job according to my studies soon. The language I would like to learn is English because this allows me to have better employment opportunities. I love my vacations because I can rest. I prefer to drink pure water. I like swimming. I pray God continues blessing Living Water and each sponsor who supports the children, including me. Please, take care of yourself, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Many blessings,

Genesis Jimena Alejandra Ruano Ochoa
