Hello! I am pretty excited to write this letter to you. My name is Wilson Francisco Carrillo Cano, and I hope you are doing well. Let me tell you that I just turned 14 years old, and I am an eighth-grade student. Nowadays, I receive online classes through WhatsApp, and because of that, I have Wi-Fi at home. However, this is hard for me because I learn less than before, and I miss having fun with my friends. The people who I live with are my mother, stepfather, and siblings. My biological father separated from my mother many years ago. He was sometimes helping me financially, but he stopped doing it some time ago. Fortunately, we have the support of my stepfather who struggles a lot by working as a delivery driver; he works for a company called “Universal Express”. On the other hand, my mother works hard doing the chores and preparing our meals. However, she is resting now because she just gave birth to a lovely baby boy. I love spending time with my family because we enjoy great moments playing table games and watching movies. My whole family and I live in a rented house. Some walls of our home are made of concrete blocks and tin sheets, with a tin sheet roof, and a concrete floor. Our home has two rooms, a separate kitchen, running water, and electricity. Fortunately, the house is in good condition, but we would like to have our own house. I would like to ask for your prayers so that we achieve our dream.
At the beginning of the pandemic, we had economic difficulties because my mother ran out of work. and she could not find new employment. Despite that, we have moved forward, and we are healthy. Let me tell you that Christmas is a special time of the year. Last year, my family and I enjoyed and celebrated that season at home. Nowadays, we are members of a Christian Church called "Iglesia de Dios" which is a five-minute walk from my home. Sadly, we could not attend it due to the virus for some time; that made us feel sad and desolate. Thankfully, this is open again. As you know, the feeding program also had to close its doors to keep everybody safe from Covid-19. What I missed the most from the program were the Bible classes, spending time with my friends, and eating the tasty lunches that the cooks prepare. Despite the difficulties that our world had to face when the pandemic started, the Living Water staff continued working and gave us grocery bags that were a great blessing for us. Fortunately, the feeding program is open again after a long time; this is located a twenty-minute walk from my home. Lastly, I want to let you know that I gave this information to an evangelism team member to share my last news with you. I leave you for now, and I send you huge hugs hoping to hear from you soon.
In Jesus’ name,
Wilson Francisco Carrillo Cano
