Hello!
Before anything else, I want to express my gratitude to you for taking the time to read my letter. My name is Walter Alejandro Giron Gonzalez and I am 12 years old. This year, I am in sixth grade, and I receive live classes and hand in homework every day. Moreover, I use the internet to look for information to complete my assignments, and I use WhatsApp to receive my teacher’s instructions. Unfortunately, the pandemic affected my learning, and that made me feel discouraged because it was hard to learn different topics. I hope that this year will be better. Let me tell you that my father works as a mechanic in his own business, and my mother struggles to do the chores and take care of me. I love my parents because they do their best for our family. We live in our own house, and this is made of blocks, concrete roof, and granite floor. Our humble house has two rooms, a separate kitchen, electricity, and running water.
I love my family, and what I enjoy the most is watching a movie with them in the afternoon. As you know, Covid-19 affected many people all over the world. In our case, my father ran out of work because his business declined. Despite that, none of us have gotten the virus, and we have been healthy. Moreover, we have been able to celebrate Christmas; we usually prepare “tamales” (a typical dish) and hot fruit punch to share. I want to tell you that we are members of Liberty Church which is a ten-minute walk from my home. At the beginning of the pandemic, our church was closed, and that made my mom feel sad because it was pretty special for her to join our family to attend the services. The feeding program had to close for a long time due to the disease. I missed attending it because I liked playing and sharing time with my friends there. Nevertheless, the Adopt a Child staff did not stop working, and they provided us with food parcels which were a great help in the most difficult times. Nowadays, the feeding program is opening again, and we are pretty grateful to the Lord for that. The program is a ten-minute walk. Lastly, I want to let you know that my mother gave this information to an evangelism team member to share with you my last news. I say goodbye to you for now, but do not forget that I love you so much. May God continue taking care of your family and you!
Sincerely,
Walter Alejandro Giron Gonzalez
