Child
I am the mother of Elvi, sharing his story for the team of Adopt a Child, while registering him in the program. Elvi is 8 years old and he is child with special needs. He is mentally ill and not yet able to speak. He likes bright colors and loves to spends a lot of time drawing lines and coloring. Elvi goes to school and we are thankful that they have a teacher that is dedicated to teach him and spends time only with him. He likes going to school and is very curious. Elvi likes to spend time in the house playing with car toys and with other toys that we have got for him. He is always curious to get anything that is new or to go close to people who he sees for the first time. He is a happy temperament child and all the other children love him and involve him while they play outside. Elvi has an older sister who stays close to him, while they are inside the house. When they watch tv, or while she and I take their time to color, I am a bit freed by him to deal with housekeeping, cooking, or working on our garden.
Elvi lives in a village that is part of one of the communities of the district of Pogradec. We are far from the town, and the infrastructure is very bad. No investment has been made in the road of our village for many years, and we get isolated by the snow during the winter. Our family consists of my husband, daughter and Elvi My husband and I work in the land we own as family. We plant vegetables and crops for consumption. We have a cow and a horse and together with my husband, i plant in the land what is needed to feed these animals. My husband uses the horse to transport the products from the fields and he collects also in the mountain the wood we need for the winter. Keeping the cow, we benefit milk and every year my husband raises a bit of income while he sells the calves. My husband has also worked in Greece for three months every year so that he can better provide for our family. We miss him very much when he goes to work, but we are thankful that he can work in Greece in construction and bring for us more income to cover our basic needs. Elvi and his sister are registered in the sponsorship program together. We go once a month to the place they have rented where we take Bible lessons. We are happy to receive constantly help in food and clothes from Adopt a Child. Thank you for your physical and spiritual care and God bless you in return.
