My Story

Hello! My name is Elio. I am 10 years old and my birthday is on June. I am doing well and my health is good. My favorite color is blue and my future dream is to study and become medical doctor. My hobbies are sports and I love playing football, doing running and ride bicycles. while I meet with my friends. I also like to watch football matches on TV. I like to take the mobile phone of my mother when she allows me and I watch cartoons, or listen to music. I started to attend the fifth grade of school and am doing my best studying so I can accomplish my future dreams and desires. The subject I like to study best at school is English. I like to learn this language because it is so helpful for communication. Besides learning, I spend a wonderful time at school with my classmates and friends. After the lessons we play football at the sport field of the school. My friends and I walk to school and back, so while walking, we have lots of fun and nice conversations. I return in the house at midday and spend time inside the house with my older sister. We spend a while playing together or watching programs for children on television. After spending time playing, we sit to study and prepare for the next school day. My sister helps me with my homework and our mother helps us both. My sister and I try our best to help our mother and grandparents during the day. We do what they ask us to do for them, small things like cleaning our room, fixing our beds, shopping, etc. I live in the town of Pogradec. This town is beautiful and we have walks by the lake almost every evening. My family consists of my mother, sister and me. Our father died from cancer seven years before. My mother decided to return and live with her parents (our grandparents) and we have a room of ours in their house. The local government gave the opportunity to my mother to work for a full year as cleaning lady in a kindergarten of the community, so that she could have some income provided to feed us. The government gives me and my sister a symbolic amount considered as help to orphans. My mother is trying to find a job so that she can cover our living expenses, since at present we are spending out of what our grandparents have available. Being in this financial condition, we heard that Adopt a Child program gives help to children and we started following the Bible classes and the church services. We are happy to hear about faith in God and we are expecting to receive food packages constantly from the program. Thank you for your generosity and care. God bless you in return.
