My Story

Hello! My name is Fernando. I am 8 years old and my birthday is on December. I am doing well and my health is good. My favorite color is blue and my future dream is to become a police officer. I started school on September and am very happy to see my friends again, after the summer break. My mother and I went to buy some school supplies and other things that I need during this school year. Usually when we have the first day of school, all the children dress nice and with new clothes, so my parents have bought to me a set of new clothes too. I had a nice time during the summer holidays. I met with my friends almost every morning to play football. This is my favorite sport to play and I also like to watch football matches on TV. During the evenings, in our town we have walks by the lake which are traditional and I like to get together with my mother and father. I like to go to the park of the town and play for a while and on the way, we usually get corn or other sweets and drink. I am going to do my best to study well at school during this year. My favorite subject I like to study best is Albanian Language. I am doing better in reading than in Mathematics.

I live in the town of Pogradec. We rent a house in which we live in. I have four members in my family who are my father, mother, my brother and I. My father is not in good health, so he works very less, with whatever strength he has, helping where he can and being hired in different places as helper. So he gets paid very little for what he does. My mother was also ill during this year. She had a surgery in her brain from the specialist doctors, who removed a tumor. This surgery was with high risk, but we are thankful that it was successfully and now, my mother is recovering slowly. Due to this illness, my mother is unable to work and the health department has given to her an invalid monthly pension. My brother is 20 years old. He works abroad to provide for himself and he is helping us as family quite a lot to cover our living expenses. Our family has been in major needs and for this reason, I am registered at the Adopt a Child program. I attend the church in Pogradec and am happy to learn about the Lord in the Bible classes. I have several friends from my classmates that have suggested me to attend the church and I am happy that I will receive spiritual and physical care from the program of Adopt a Child.
