My Story

Hello! My name is Minevere Malo. I am 74 years old and my birthday is on September 22nd. I am a widow and my husband died before 8 years. My husband and I have five children. I am grandmother of 9 grandchildren and am happy to see them every time they visit me here where I live. I live in Kotodesh together with one of my sons. He is ill and I care for him during the whole day. Speaking about my health, because of being elderly, I am also taking medication to cure the blood pressure as well as asthma. I live in a village and before I got retired, I used to work in agriculture. We did lots of hard work, planting in the fields, collecting products and in the same time carrying for animals. The village pension is a very small one therefore I depend a lot on my children to supply my needs and the special needs of my son who is ill and for whom I care.

I am challenged to keep on planting in the garden so that I can provide vegetables for consumption. Even that I am busy carrying for my son, I still go and work in the garden. Besides working in the garden, I also go for shopping in the grocery store of the village and buy what we need for a few days. Every day, I am active, doing cooking, cleaning and working in the land. I find time during the day to go out and chat with my friends who live near by. I am happy that we use mobile phones nowadays and I can call my children and see my grandchildren. I am happy they are constantly helping me with all they can offer to give, because they have their own financial hardships in their families.

I come to the church of Kotodesh and I am happy that I receive help in food constantly. I am happy that I can go to the Bible study for ladies once a week and meet with my friends from my church. I am very thankful to the sponsorship program and to the church for the physical and spiritual support. God bless you richly
