Widow/Widower
Hello! I am very happy to have the opportunity to be registered in the sponsorship program of Adopt a Child, as a widow in need. My name is Fatime Carcia. I am 67 years old and my birthday is on May 25th. I am doing well and in good health, still strong and working hard. I live in the village of Katjel and we deal with farming. I own a portion of land and I also keep a cow. During the past months I planted alfalfa and oat, which we use as food for the cow. I also plant vegetables in my garden that I have in front of my house. The vegetables are now collected and I have also preserved what is left in cans to use during the winter season. I am now a widow since three months. My husband and I have a son who is married. He lives together with his wife in his own house, so we are not living altogether in the same place. My son and his wife have two children, so I am grandmother of two grandchildren and am very happy to see them very often. My son is working and keeping his own family, providing for them and carrying for the children. He comes to see me and he is also helping me quite a lot, financially as well as in other ways. I worked in agriculture here in the village for many years till I got retired. I have a pension that is very small and with the amount that I get monthly, I am not covering all I need for the living, so when I am way too challenged, my son helps me financially. I live by myself and because I raise a cow, I have milk, butter and cheese. Every year, my son sells the calves and I benefit a good amount which I use for my basic needs where I need it the most. My house is in good condition of living. I am not too poor, even that living in the village, I am challenged in many ways. From time to time, I travel to our nearest town of Prrenjas for shopping or when I need to get a checkup at the clinic. I am frequenting the Bible study for ladies as well as church services of Adopt a Child in Katjel. I am happy to benefit help in food from Adopt a Child. The package of food is quite enough for me and lasts for longer, since I cook for myself and have other products provided through planting. I am very thankful to the sponsorship program for the spiritual and physical support. God bless you!
