My Story

Hello! My full name is Gustavo Elias Lopez Pelen, and I am so happy to share my updated information with you through this letter. I am a healthy 9-year-old boy, and I have been attending the feeding program for about two years. Some of my cousins motivated my brother and me to accompany them. My parents were also enrolled and enjoyed delicious food when they were children. What they loved the most was eating fried chicken, French fries, and soda on the last day of lunch in the feeding program. Nowadays, they are both healthy. My father makes a living in the construction area, while my mother keeps busy taking care of my siblings and me. I tell you that my young brother, Adrian, suffered cerebral palsy and a deformity in his right foot when he was born. He had a surgery in his foot a while ago, and fortunately, he walks much better. He continues doing his therapies in a private clinic in Duenas town, every fifteen days.

About me, I tell you that I am in 3rd grade at school, and I prefer cool weather. I usually help my mother with some chores like sweeping. The place where we live belongs to my mother; my family and I live in the second level, while my grandparents live in the first one. We do not share the expenses for the electricity or running water with them because each family has separate services. I would like to play an instrument and serve in the worship band of my church. My family and I are members of Liberty Church. We feel motivated to go there because of the nice services, worship time, and Bible school for children. I tell you that sister Raquel (a member of the evangelism team) recently talked with my mother about Heaven. She told her that she assured her salvation by accepting Jesus as her Lord. That decision changed her life and now, she strives to not lose that grace because of sins. My mother appreciated her kind words and added that we must be humble and ask for God's mercy to be admitted into Heaven. It is time to say goodbye, but I send you my best wishes.
