Jocotenango
Guatemala
Child
Jocotenango, where your child lives, is in the state of Sacatepequez, Guatemala and is a suburb of Antigua. It is an urban environment and is inhabited by both Quiche Mayans and Ladinos (those with mixed European ancestry). Most of the children attend school, but financial hardship affects many families and forces most of the children to leave after the sixth grade. Only one out of ten children finish high school. Children in this area face temptations from gangs and drugs.
Hello, my name is Duglas Gudiel Noe Chavez Xinic. Thank you so much for stopping and taking the time to read my information today. I am so happy for this opportunity to be a part of the feeding program of Living Water, and it makes me so excited to know someone may be interested to learn about me. I am a 3-year-old little boy. I live in Guatemala in a little town called Jocotenango. My birthday is January 14. I go to nursery, and I love playing with toy cars. Thanks to God I am healthy along with my parents. I love the color red, and my favorite animal is a cat, but we do not have any cats. We only have two pet dogs. I want to tell you that my favorite food to eat is fried chicken. It is so delicious. Sometimes we get to eat fried chicken at the feeding program as well, and I am always so excited when they give us fried chicken. I live at home with my mom and dad, and my brother. My dad´s name is Mynor Amilcar Chavez Garcia. He is a farmer, and he works very hard to provide for our family. My mom’s name is Roxana Xinic Gallina. She does not have a job. She stays home to take care of me and my brother. She works very hard as well to take care of our home. We have a humble house, but we thank God that it is our own house. My dad is the one who owns the house and pays for the lights and water. Our house is a one room house with a small little kitchen in the same space, and we have a metal roof and a concrete floor. We live about thirty minutes away from the feeding program by walking, which is how we usually get there. As a family we attend a church called New Life in Christ Pentecostal Church. I love going to church and learning about Jesus and the stories of the Bible. I have to say goodbye now. I hope you have enjoyed reading my information today. Thank you so much for your beautiful heart for the people in Guatemala like me. I send so much love and many blessings to you. Big hugs and many kisses!
With love,
Duglas Gudiel Noe Chavez Xinic
