Chixocol
Guatemala
Child
Chixocol, where your child lives, is a very small village nestled in a mountain valley in the state of Quiché, Guatemala. Life in this state is very difficult and somewhat isolated from the outside world. Most families live in one-room adobe houses with dirt floors and a small attached kitchen. The extremely poor live in houses made of corn stalks. In the past few years, electricity and water have become available to most people in the area - however, indoor plumbing is very rare. Most of the families are farmers or shepherds and live off the fruits of their labors. Public education is available for those who can afford it and consider it of value. Life in Quiché is always a challenge.
Hello, I am so happy to share my information through this. My full name is Maria Tatiana Garcia Garcia. My birthdate is September 10th of 2021. I turn 4 years old this year. My father´s name is Mariano Garcia Benito. He struggles for our family and he works as a construction assistant. My mother´s name is Vilma Garcia Chingo. She usually stays busy with the housework and raises hens. I have one brother and one sister. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.
Since I am very young, I am not attending school. So, I spend my time playing with my dolls. I love the color pink, and I like chicks. The meal I love the most is grilled meat. For now, we do not attend any church. We do not have our own house, and fortunately, my paternal grandparents allow us to live in their house. So, we share the house with my grandparents and one aunt. There are two adobe rooms with a tin sheet roof and a cement floor. The kitchen is separated. We have running water and electricity; my parents contribute to pay the bills. As a family, our essential needs are groceries and corn. It is a great blessing for me to be registered in the program and I walk 15 minutes to arrive. I say goodbye to you for now and I would like to hear from you. Many and abundant blessings for you!
Kisses and hugs,
Maria Tatiana Garcia Garcia
