Elderly
Hello, my name is Maria Popol Atz. I was born on December 26, 1958 in a place called San Martin Jilotepeque. I am 66 years old. Now, I live in San Miguel Dueñas. I am a widow; my husband passed away twenty-two years ago. His name was Julio Lazaro Yucute. We had 8 children. Five boys and three girls, all of them are adults. I am a member of the Liberty Church. About my health, sadly, I am losing my vision in my left eye. I do not have any treatment for lack of economic resources. Also, I suffer from high blood pressure but thanks to God, I have my treatment. I drink Losartan Potasico and Irbesartan. Four of my children struggle a lot to buy me my medicine. They do not have a stable job. My daughter Lidia works in a clothes store, my son Cipriano is a farmer and my other two daughters, Isabel and Reina, are housewives. I live with two of my children, and they are Lidia and Cipriano. We do not have our own house.
We live on a piece of rented land and pay Q500.00 = 65.04 monthly. We have one room and we do not have a kitchen. We cook in the corridor. The house is made of block and tin sheet walls, tin sheet roof and concrete and dirt floor. My children Lidia, Isabel, Cipriano and Reina help me to pay the rent too. We have some animals at home, two dogs, one hen, three chickens and two roosters. I am a woman with many needs, and some of them are medical attention for my eye and groceries. I ask for your prayers for God to provide for me always. I am sending many blessings and thank you very much for reading my letter.
Big hugs,
Maria Popol Atz
