Elderly
Hello, I greet you in the name of Jesus. It is a great day to share something about my life. My name is Isidra Cojolon Dondiego. I was born on December 26, 1960 in San Juan Alotenango town. I am 64 years old. I am a widow, and sadly my husband passed away 17 years ago. We had 9 children. Five boys and four girls. Now, all of them are adults. About my health, I have a kidney stone. I have my treatment in the national hospital. Actually, I am a member of the Catholic Church. I am living with my four grandchildren. I am in charge of them because sadly my daughter Marta, who is my grandchildren´s mother, has been in jail for two years. My daughter had a friend who asked to borrow her bank account to receive a deposit and she agreed, but the sad news was that the money they deposited was from an extortion. The police investigated the case and she was implicated in it because she was the owner of the bank account. Her husband left the town, and now he lives in another place. She tells me he does not visit her in jail. He visits my grandchildren one or two times a month and helps a little bit economically.
My daughter, Maria Isabel, is single and helps us with 800.00Q = $104.00 each 15 days. She works in a factory. She is the only one who helps to cover all the expenses. Sadly, in spite of her struggle, it is not enough because my grandchildren are studying and I need to cover all their expenses. I ask for your prayers please for God to cover our needs. Thanks to God, we live in our own house. It has three rooms and we use two of them and a separate kitchen. The walls and the roof are made of tin sheet and the floor is dirt. We have running water and electricity. I pay for them with the money my daughter gives me. We have three chickens and two hens. As you know, we have many needs and some of them are: Groceries, clothes and shoes. My house is 20 minutes to the feeding program. I get there walking. I give thanks to you from the bottom of my heart for reading my letter.
Warm wishes,
Isidra Cojolon Dondiego
