My Story

Hello! My full name is Gladys Yolanda de la Cruz Garcia and I am so happy to share my updated information with you. I hope this letter finds you keeping well alongside your loved ones. I am 12 years old and I am dedicated to helping my mother with the household chores since I stopped attending school about two years ago. I have attended the feeding program for about eight years. I like receiving Bible lessons because they help me to learn about God. Thankfully, I am in good health. Between cold and hot weather, I prefer cold because I do not like hot. I attend a Christian Church alongside my mother. We like the services so much because we can learn about God’s word and listen to the gospel songs. I tell you that sister Lizeth (a member of the LW staff) recently encouraged my mother to keep going in her faith. I am pleased to tell you that she received Jesus in her heart as her Lord and Savior.

Unfortunately, my father abandoned us a long time ago. Since then, my mother works hard to support our family. She is single and weaves blouses and sells chickens that she raises. I tell you that my oldest sister and her two children live with us. I want you to know that my mother is grateful for the food and other blessings that I have been able to enjoy at LW-Adopt A Child. She felt motivated to enroll me there because she heard that children also received medical attention for free, which has been a great blessing.
