My Story

Hello, my name is Rodrigo Alejandra De La Cruz Garcia. It is a pleasure to greet you today through this short update. I hope you are well as you read this letter, and I hope it blesses you to learn about me. It makes me feel so special to think that someone from so far away could be reading my information. I live in a small mountain village in Guatemala called Chuchucá. It is a very rural place. I am ten years old now, and I am in third grade. My favorite memories have been when we get to celebrate my birthday as a family. We get together and have so much fun together. I am always reminded how much they love me and how much God loves me He has been so faithful in my life and with my family. Thankfully, my family is doing well. My dad’s name is Miguel de la Cruz Mendez. He is a farmer and works typical paid labor. He also travels to the coast each year to harvest coffee plants for three months. He always keeps good communication with us while he is gone, and he used what he earns to cover our expenses as a family. He is the one who provides for us since my mom stays home to take care of the house and the children. Her name is Amelia Garcia Garcia. I love my mom because she I love her character and how she is so kind and loving.

She does a lot of the housework and chores at home, and we help her with some of the jobs. In my free time I love playing with my best friend, Pablo. We have been friends for a year, and we love playing soccer together. My family and I go to church at Assembly of God Light of Life Church. It is a special church, and we love going to the services each week. We especially love the thanksgiving services for the harvest each year. It is a special time to give thanks to God for all that He has blessed us with. I am also thankful for the ministry of Living Water Adopt-A-Child, and all they do for me and my family. The teachers always encourage us to continue seeking the Lord in all we do. I hope you enjoyed reading my update today. I hope it blessed you. I send big hugs and lots of love.

Many blessings,

Rodrigo Alejandra De La Cruz Garcia
